FLC, OSS & AGL Director
Charlie worked for Francis Lovel & Co for five years before setting up The Oxfordshire Shooting School. In 2013 he moved over to Atkin Grant & Lang to re-launch the company under the ownership of Francis Lovel & Co. In addition to his extensive gun knowledge, Charlie is a qualified instructor covering all aspects of the sport. Working closely with our gun makers, Charlie specialises in our renowned gun fitting services.
Charlie has recently returned to The Oxfordshire Shooting School to further develop the ground, but can still be seen at Atkin Grant & Lang once a week. The growth of both AGL and OSS has been incredible over the last 3 years. The potential makes for an exciting future ahead - we can't wait to see what's to come after more of Charlie's direction and creative vision at both grounds.
Charlie has travelled extensively following his passion for all field sports. He is always delighted to discuss his experiences and offer advice to discerning travellers looking for an adventure, so make sure you introduce yourself on your next visit.
Head Shooting Instructor
Andy has been involved in game shooting for over thirty years, starting out in the beating line and then moving up to running a team of six spaniels as a picker up and working as a loader on large estates. Andy is an all round game shot and specialises in high pheasants on some of North Wales's finest estates. Andy regularly competes at the English Sporting discipline (ESP) on the UK clay circuit up and down the country.
Andy joined us here at The Oxfordshire Shooting School as our Head Instructor in January 2017, after working for the West London Shooting School as a full time Instructor. Andy offers a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion for shooting, and is advanced level APSI trained.
Instructor & Ground Manager
Roy is one of our longest standing members of the team at The Oxfordshire Shooting School, having built and developed the school from scratch.
Before joining OSS Roy worked within the building industry - his talents are put to good use keeping the traps running smoothly and constantly working to update the ground.
Roy has been shooting game and clays since the tender age of 14, so has a wealth of knowledge – particularly in small calibre and black powder shooting.
Roy is an APSI advanced instructor and available for lessons. Next time you’re at the ground, Roy would be happy to share his experiences and offer advice for any of your shooting queries.
